Issue with Opening XDM Zip File Attachments
If a zip file attachment is received within a Direct message, note that it may be an XDM zip file. Such XDM attachments are one type of health content payload that may be sent by certified systems. Certified receiving systems must be able to receive and incorporate this payload type into their Health IT.
Common causes of issues receiving or processing this attachment type include:
1) the receiving system is not technically capable of processing the file (most likely in non-certified Health IT, since this would have been exercised during certification testing)
2) the end user has not received documentation or training needed to successfully process the file
3) the payload is not correctly formatted or is otherwise invalid.
In the event that a system is not capable of ingesting Zip files and does not plan to implement XDM Zip receipt capability, the XDM Viewer embedded in phiMail Web may be used to eficiently view XDM zip content of a properly formed XDM Zip file. Contact support@emrdirect.com for more information about the XDM Viewer capability.
